The Art Institute, Shop, Science & Industry Musuem, Eat, Shedd Aquarium, shop some more, go to a baseball game, eat so more, If she had An American girl doll, she may still be interested in going to the American Girl Store in Chicago (the only one anywhere), theater, broadcasting musuem, shop and eat more. Teen favorite restaurants: cheesecake Factory, Grande Lux Cafe, any of the chicago pizzerias, Billy Goat Tavern(home of SNL cheezeburger cheezeburger, coke no pepsi), Ed Debevics, Hard Rock Cafe, Ghiradellis (for ice cream, hot chocolate, etc).

Take her shopping along Michigan Avenue. There is Neiman's, Nordstrom's, Bloomies, Saks, etc. as well as Banana, Ann Taylor, yada yada. I would also go up to Halsted and Armitage as there are some cute shops along Armitage just west of Halsted. In Bucktown there are a lot of funky shops as well. Go to the intersection of Damen and North and walk up Damen. Maybe go to Lincoln Park zoo if it's a nice day and walk along the lakefront-always beautiful seeing the skyline view.

The beach is a short walk from Michigan Avenue or Lincoln Park. Rent bikes or rollerblades and cruise the bike path (very crowded on weekends, though). Look up her favorite artist at the Art Institute. Check out the Museum of Contemporary Art and some of their avant-garde performances. Try a new cuisine that she can't get at home. Visit some of the great buildings that will knock her out with their size - John Hancock, Merchandise Mart, Tribune Tower. Watch the mayhem of traders (including lots of young guys) at the Mercantile Exchange, Board of Trade or CBOE. Go to a free music performance at the Cultural Center, Library, Daley Plaza or Jazz Mart. Hit one of the lakefront or neighborhood summer festivals. Let her do some of the research and make her own decisions - good and bad.
