We are pretty flexible on dates but would love to go to DC during Cherry Blossom time .. Need suggestions re hotel .. sites to see .. restaurants and any suggestions would be most appreciated ..

It's crowded, so whatever you do, don't try to drive in (I'm still reminding DH several years later!).

You might use Priceline to get some really good rates at Crystal City. Take the Metro into the blossoms. Plan to spent lots of time just strolling under the trees with blossoms gently drifting down around you.

When are the blossoms usually out? I know it depends on length of days, weather etc. We'll be there mid May - too late?

The festival is actually 3/28 thru 4/12 .. There is an official website you can look at nationalcherryblossomfestival.org for various events .. We were thinking of driving there ... Wondering if anyone who has could also offer some advice .. We would be in need of a couple of hotel recommendations both in and out of DC but certainly close enough to commute .. Been 15 to 20 years since we have gone .. so we need some advice ...

Might see some azaleas in Northern Virginia tho.
