Check-in time for domestic flights

I am thinking of taking my next vacation in the USA (from the UK) and am considering a multi-city trip flying between each city and spending about four days in each. To find out if this is a good option I was wondering what the check-in time these days was for domestic flights. Thanks for your help.

It is usually suggested to be 2 hours from curb to gate. You may well get to the gate in 15 minutes but you never know.

I think it depends on the cities. The small airport I use is now saying one hour. The larger the airport, the more wait time.

An hour before is fine. If you find yourself tight on time (I did the other morning) just ask an airline rep to help you. They don't like to do it, but if the lines are huge and an hour isn't sufficient, they'll pull you out of line and get you through.

I agree with expat.

The smaller the airport, the less time you need. Most airports, seem to be saying 90 minutes ahead for domestic flights.

I was in Provincetown, recently, and saw people get to the airport 5 minutes before take off and make it( althought I certainly would allow more time than that).
