Charleston, SC breakfast/brunch recommendations
I'm looking for a good place with a local feel and menu, for breakfast/brunch on a sat. morning, in Charleston's historic section. Any suggestions? I'm doing a mother/daughter weekend for one daughter's birthday.

Thanks for the recommendations. I have been to Poogan's Porch before, and liked it a lot. This trip, we ended up going to a fairly new diner which was excellent. I'd have to look up the name, but I'd go back in a heartbeat, for breakfast. I had a really good french toast, which was on Hawiian bread, dipped in corn flake crumbs, and topped with sliced almonds. It was served with cinammon butter. The other entrees were equally good.
We did get to Magnolia's for dinner, and loved it. We were so glad we chose it.

The place I went to was Uptown Diner. It's on King St. [412 King St.] There were many interesting choices for breakfast. My daughter had an excellent fried oyster omlet with a delicious sauce over it, and another that accompanied it on the side. I believe the items were about $8 each. Our service was very good.

Enjoy--have a cocktail at the rooftop Market Pavilion hotel...beautiful views!!!
