Charleston Restaurants

Staying in Charleston 3 nights. Would like some suggestions of the BEST restaurants for dinner. No budget. Thanks!

If you're into steak, chops, and great local seafood, try High Cotton. This restaurant is fabulous in service, ambience and cuisine. If you go, try the Lowcountry Spiced Tuna- my personal favorite (about $22) Great wine list. www.high-cotton.net.

I also like Fish quite a bit, it's a little off the beaten path and is fairly new. I'm not a fan of Magnolia's personally, but I know a lot of people who enjoy it. The Peninsula Grill in the Planters Inn is first class, and if you want a more casual atmosphere, Hank's seafood is great too. I've only had sushi at Tristan but it was wonderful. Also try their blue cosmopolitan. MMMmmmmm.

Please don't forget to get a cocktail at the rooftop bar on top of the Vendue Inn. Web site: http://www.vendueinn.com/rooftopbar.htm

I used to live in Charleston and miss it. You'll have a great time. A couple of other good recommendations:

McCradys http://www.mccradysrestaurant.com/

82 Queen

Enjoy! I'm very envious ;-)

Just returned from Charleston. We like Magnolia, Charleston Chops, and Sticky Fingers (good barbecue). Tried 82 Queen for the first time and found that it was OK, but for the price not worth it. Middleton Place Gardens (they have a great restaurant for lunch and dinner)just outside the city. If you go after 5pm for dinner, I think you can tour the gardens for free.

You can't go wrong with Peninsula Grill. I also always enjoy Slightly North Of Broad (S.N.O.B) and McGrady's.
