charleston area job prospects

I am a physical therapist who is planning on opening a private practice in the near future, and wife is an elementary art teacher. Wanted to know what the job market and healthcare industry are like there?

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is a thriving teaching hospital in downtown Charleston. I would guess that MUSC is one of Charleston's largest employers.

Medical fields are booming in Charleston right now. However, the school system is a complete mess!

When you say the school systems are a mess, is it the typical mess that most school systems are experiencing or worse? Is there a big influx in population growth?

Typical mess.

Ask 100 parents about their school system and at least 90 will tell you it is a mess.

I would say that the Charleston school system "mess" is worse that normal. I have worked in several system and I have never seen one like Charleston's. There seems to be scandal after scandal. One of the most recent was that over a million dollars has been unaccounted for. There are some great schools within the system, however.
