Would like to go in the Spring before it gets too hot. What is the nicest month to go? I do love flowers. Plan on bidding for a hotel on priceline. Which area should I try to stay in? Thank you!

Spring is peak time in Charleston and the weather in anyone's guess. The best time to go would be late October or early November to guarantee good weather. Bid on something in the historic district.

We've been there twice in April -spring flowers blooming everywhere, not too crowded and comfortable temps. Not high season yet so prices are reasonable. I think later in the spring and summer it would be much more humid and hot.

Have been in mid-May and late October. I would go in April for more flowers, but the weather in October is wonderful and crowds are not bad at all.

Mid March through the first week in June is peak season for downtown Charleston and hotel rooms are scarce and prices are high (Wildlife Expo, Spoleto, and other city wide conventions).

Our favorite place to stay in Charleston is the Courtyard Downtown Riverview. It is not your typical Courtyard by Marriot, and has a lovely view of the marina and river. Accross the river is a fantastic restaurant called California Dreaming. If you make reservations at the Courtyard, make sure to tell them you want a riverview room.
