changing plans.. only two islands
Ok so after all the great posts on fodors, I've convinced my husband that we should only do two islands, Oahu and Big Island. I think we are staying at Turtle Bay BI, and not sure where yet on Oahu. We will be there mid Sept. (havent decided weither the 9th - 23rd, or 16th - 30th). Anyways, just wondering what is to do up near Turtle Bay, and how long the drive is to the other end of BI. ??

I'm so mixed up and DH has changed his mind so many times... so not really sure, of course I am at work and all my *stuff* is at home. yes, Turtle Bay on Oahu.. need to know driving times for both Islands though, just so I know how much time to allocate for stuff we are planning to do.

Turtle Bay is on the very northern tip of Oahu. It is about 1 hour to Honolulu including Waikiki & airport.
Close to Turtle Bay:
Polynesian Cultural Center, Shrimp trucks (Kahuku), Kuilima Cove (at Turtle Bay Resort). Malaekahana Recreation Area is nice, only a few miles from Turtle Bay.
North shore beaches include Sunset Beach, Pupukea (Shark's Cove), Waimea Bay & Ehukai (Banzai Pipeline). Waimea Valley Audubon Center is close. Haleiwa is close. Dole Pineapple is fairly close.
