Carmel/Monterey in the winter

We are preparing for college visits. My daughter's list includes Brown(Rhode Island), Denison (Ohio), and Santa Clara University (CA) besides the local Colorado schools, CU, CSU & DU. We were talking of taking the family to Carmel/Monterey last summer but didn't make it. Just wondering what it would be like to visit either over the holidays or maybe President's Day weekend & combining a visit to Santa Clara.

The holidays are nice in the Carmel area. There is the possibility of rain, but it's not likely. The energy of the visitors is high and I think it's a great idea.

Yes, it would be easy to combine a Monterey/Carmel trip with a trip to Santa Clara (I live in San Jose). I've been in Monterey several times on presidents day weekend. I remember in 04 it was usually warm (low 70's) for the time of year. Sometimes raininy, but you will have fun either way!
FYI, my daughter took summer classes at Santa Clara U a few years ago. In fact she considered it for law school.

Oh, I just wanted to add if you did come during holiday periods make sure the Universities are open for your visit.

Thanks for the info. I will check their schedule, am thinking more kids might be around over President's Day.
