Carmel in June - Where to stay?

My wife and I are heading to San Fran in June (work during the week) and want to spend the following weekend in Carmel. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to stay and where or what to stay away from?

Any side trips that we should make while in Carmel?

Vagabonds House is old, charming, quiet, parking lot, walk to everything.
One of the west coast's highly-rated B&Bs for many years.

I suggest:

www.loboslodge.com

Great location right on Ocean (the main drag)!

We've enjoyed stays at the Tickle Pink Inn and the Highland's Inn in the Carmel Highlands area. A visit to Pt. Lobos would be nice or a drive to Big Sur.

We'll be staying at La Playa soon and touring the Carmel Valley wine country. Enjoy Carmel! ***kim***

I'd stay at the Mission Ranch Inn. Visit Carmel Mission, take a hike at Point Lobos, and hang out in the piano bar. Maybe the famous owner will stop by.

>>Great location right on Ocean (the main drag)!<<

It's on Ocean Ave, not on the Pacific Ocean. Ocean Ave run perpendicular to the shoreline.

Correct. That's what I was saying by "main drag."

Lobos Lodge is on Ocean Avenue, not far from the Pacific Ocean.

Enjoy!
