Carlsbad weather in April

Hi,

Looking to go to Aviara Resort, Carlsbad in April. I've heard conflicting stories about how early I can catch some sun. Some say it is basically cloudy by the coast (I'm concerned anywhere from LA south) until around 10am or even noon, almost anytime during the year. Is this true??? We're heading out to vacation, but also see what we think about moving there someday soon (reaching that age). We love the sun, being outdoors, and dining. Both "beachy" type places and upper scale places too. Open to suggestions and comments.
Thanks.
Frank

Love the Four Seasons at Aviara..
Weather in San Diego is a weird scene..we have 4 different types of systems in a 60 mile span from coast/inland/mountains/desert..
Should be nice but not hot..
Great food to be had from Carlsbad, Del Mar, La Jolla and San Diego..
George's at the cove is wonderful in LJ to Market in Del Mar..love the happy hour at the Brigantine..best fish tacos!
If you are thinking of moving here, you needs lots of cash..it is very expensive to live here but man is it worth it!

Personally Frank, I don't think you picked a perfect time..great time but I think late September is one of the 'perfect' times to come to SD..

I would agree with Tams - late Sept early Oct is by far imo some of the best weather and the least crowd et. I have been on the beach in July and freezing!

It will be hit or miss Frank - I hope you enjoy it as the resort is lovely. You know you are not "on" the beach right? You are on the other side of the 5 freeway.

I hope you enjoy your time. The weather will be hit or miss.

Interested in coastal weather primarily.

I do understand that, but Aviara does look great.

We ponder moving to northern San Diego vs west coast of Florida. It's a tough decision. My wife wants to "live by the water!!" I'll leave it at that. I'm sure I'll be watching the PGA Guys @ Torey Pines later this month wearing sweaters. But the Tour Players seem to live in Florida because it warms up earlier in the day.

Frank..
PGA players live in Florida for the no state income tax..
Being a native San Diegan and have visited Florida, I cannot ever imagine living there..it's so stinking HOT with humidity and huge bugs..
I didn't know that people with pools have to have them fenced in for the bugs and the gators..Yuk!
Phil Mickelson used to be my neighbor but is a member of my golf club and he and Amy are lovely people..
I'm a Fred Couples gal and will be there for the Pro-Am..Torrey is a great course to play..long though.

ROFL!! You have a point there!!

>>I didn't know that people with pools have to have them fenced in for the bugs and the gators.<<

ROFL again. Once in Hilton Head, my wife and I were pulling up to a tee where the guys were hitting off the seniors tee. I turned to my wife and made some snide comment <g>. When I got to the tee, there was this big gator laying along the mens tee. My wife just pointed and said, "play away!!!" I enjoyed the extra yardage hitting from a shorter tee!!

>>I'm a Fred Couples gal and will be there for the Pro-Am<<

I've always been a Freddie Fan!! I miss not seeing him on tour more.
