"I'm willing to bet any capitalist from the UK understands the marketing concept without getting in a tizzy. The level of ignorance among the US public is astonishing. No wonder the US economy has taken a ride in a hand basket."
But your super brain has not yet explained this so-called "marketing concept" to us yet......The car companies are constantly telling us that they're almost bankrupt because rental rates are too low. Why then are they renting a car to a Brit for $200 when an American would be willing to pay $400 for it?
P.S. I'd rather need a refresher course in simple math or marketing than a refresher course in common courtesy.

Avis this weekend, for a car in Las Vegas plus CWD and Liability:
US Citizen $310
Brazilian $290
Aussie $290
UK $85
Well, there are discounts and then there are DISCOUNTS. They are practically giving these cars away to the British. And waving any collision damage in the meantime. "Here you go, Ringo...that'll be 80 bucks....and bring it back without a fender if you wish!"
Maybe the Bush administration and Tony Blair struck a deal. Either that or these so called "marketing departments" can be bribed with Fish n Chips and a good warm glass of beer.

Give it up, Joe. It is what it is, and nothing anyone posts on Fodors will make a difference. By the way, the price for UK residents would be 85 pounds. Still cheap, and I found one for a _whole week_ for 110 pounds + tax and waiver.
