Capitol Steps Tickets in DC

Does anyone know how to purchase tickets to Capitol Steps in Washington, DC other than going through ticketmaster. They only perform on Friday and Saturday nights, so are they usually sold out by the time the weekend comes? We'll be in DC in January, arriving on a Thursday night, would it be too late to get tickets on the Friday for a Saturday night performance?

I have always bought my tickets to their shows through Ticketmaster and done Will Call to pickup the tickets rather than paying the steep delivery fees.

Their tickets do sell out rapidly and if you are buying tickets the week of a performance you are trying to attend, expect only balcony seats and scattered seating for a group. If these are acceptable conditions for you, you are fine to wait. If not, I would suggest 2-3 weeks earlier for your purchase to secure blocks of seats & orchestra level seating based on my personal experience.

You can also call the Washington, DC, Visitor Center at 202-408-8736 to purchase tickets. For general information about the Capitol Steps, call 202-312-1555 or go to www.capsteps.com.

Have you looked on eBay? I have purchased NYC theater tickets this way several times. If you choose this route, read the "feedback" of the seller and make sure the exact seat numbers are listed in the auction. Good luck!

They also have a webpage which lists (among other things) their performances out and about the country.
