Cape Cod town with teenage girls
I am looking for advice on the best town to stay in for teenage girls for 3 days in July. We are looking at Chatham, Yarmouth, Provincetown, etc. Which offers the most to do? Thank you.

I do the trip with 3 teenage boys.
You may want to consider Hyannis as well as your other suggestions. There are movie theaters, a big mall (always a hit with teenage girls) as well as shopping in downtown Hyannis. The Cape Cod potato chip factory tour is a fun short trip. There are beaches close by as well. It's not too far from Falmouth if you are interested in visitng Woods Hole and also in the opposite direction, its not far from Brewster and the Cape Cod Rail trail if they are into biking. The National Seashore beaches aren't that long a drive either. Have fun.

we genreally stay in West Yarmouth - it is easy access to the rest of hte Cape. You certainly do not want to miss the shopping experience of Provincetown - and a walk on the National Seashore....the Marconi Station beach is great for a long walk.
Chatham is bit further out of the way for mainstream activities (restaurants and shopping), though it is a VERY nice town -I would do Chatham with just my husband!!! = )

#1 Provincetown
Whale Watches; Pilgrim Monument & Museum; Whydah pirate museum; Harbor cruise; Art's Dune Tours; Walk or boat out to Long point; Race Point and Herring Cove National Seashore Beaches; Biking & Horseback Riding Trails; Trolley Tours; Shopping the unique stores of Commercial Street; Ferry to Boston; Walking on MacMillan Pier. Has many of the best restaurants on Cape Cod. You don't need your car here.
#2 Yarmouth
Here you will need a car because everything here is spread out along route 28 and other roadways. There is plenty to do with go-carts, mini-golf, batting cages; beaches; parks; Teen dances; playgrounds and you are close to Hyannis and Dennis which offer more of the same as well as many other attractions.
#3 Chatham
Chatham is most likely the loveliest town on Cape Cod. It is very appealing to families with young children, older folks, and otherwise affluent vacationers. While their are some nice shops and dining choices, and the beaches are beautiful I'm not sure there is a lot for teens.

North Eastham. Nauset Light Beach. Eight years ago we stayed 3 nights at the Captain's Quarters in North Eastham. Our twin daughters (then 16) had a ball. Friendly folks. Bicycles available free. Easy paths and roadways to lobster shacks, lighthouses, birding, and the beach. Part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Just north of the much busier Coast Guard Beach, regularly voted among the Top Ten most beautiful beaches in the nation, HI and CA included.

Wellfleet. The drive-in movie. as well as the movie theater. W.H.A.T. for live theater. the pier, where Wed. night the entire town comes out for the Square Dance-and every night for ice cream. a meeting place for the teens. The ocean beaches- surfing at White Crest, swimming at Cahoons or Newcombs Hollow. Beachcombing at Duck Harbor, many National Seashore programs, but need to see what's going on that week you are here. Fun village, lots of art galleries-Sat night is gallery night, where most offer wine and cheese. Short hop to P'town, you'll need more than three days!!

We've decided to stay in Chatham. Both Hawthorne (on water, walk to town, no pool/activities, and little more $)and Pleasant Bay Village (further from town/beach, pool/hot tub/activities, beautiful grounds, large cottage) are available. Any recommendations on which one?
