Cape Cod for 3N 4 days.

Hi, we're planning to go to Cape Cod for 3 nights at the end of May. Will stay at Hyannis. Please help us with tips to visit Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket island. Should we try to visit both islands or just Martha's Vineyard as I heard that there are nothing mush to do at Nantucket Thanks..

With 4 days (2 full, 2 travel?), I would just stay on the Cape and enjoy what there is to do and see before the season really starts and the crowds come. Do some of the National Seashore trails. Bike trail. Visit Provincetown. I'd stay in Chathem, rather than commercial Hyannis. Not much to do on either island in this season IMO, but MV has architecture (cottages and mansions) and Aquinah scenery. Maybe biking there. Nantucket is a longer boat ride, but charming.

Reconsider staying somewhere other than Hyannis if you do skip trips to the islands.Look at Chatham, Dennis, Brewster,Orleans,. Cape Cod is very large, three bodies of salt water and many fresh water lakes.Drive on historic Route 6A for a view of it's historical charms.

Hyannis is the commercial center of Cape Cod. As suggested already, not a good place to be based..e.g. big box stores. I prefer staying out by the National Seashore, P'town, Truro, Wellfleet, etc.

Take Art's Dune Tour, Rent bikes and ride through the National Seashore, go on a whale watching trip (not sure if they are available in May),stroll and shop in P'town...that will take up all your days.

With your short period of time I wouldn't waste time going to the islands. If any then do Nantucket, but that takes up a whole day so I wouldn't do it.

What are you interested in? Nature? Beach? Physical activity or more of a drive and see trip? Museums? Hyannis is highly commercial (I work there) but does have a convenience factor in that you can get to upper cape, lower Cape and the islands fairly easily. I'm always amazed that folks only visit one section of the Cape but that's a different discussion altogether lol.

If you really want to go to MV, Falmouth has a ferry, and it's a lot nicer than Hyannis.
