Cape Cod-Biker Friendly?

Hubby and I are thinking about going to Cape Cod next year for our 25th anniv. We went to C.C. for our honeymoon and thought it wouold be fun to go back. We would want to take the Harley, of course, but I am unsure if they are biker friendly in those parts....thanks!

I think the natives are plenty friendly. You see lots of doctors and stockbrokers pretending to be outlaw bikers. I wouldn't necessarily come to the Cape right after Laconia, when the police are a little bit on edge, but the only real problem with a bike on the Cape is when sand blows on the road, you don't see it, and you find yourself going sideways on the ground when you go around a curve a little too aggressively.

Thanks for the advice. It wouldn't be after Laconia, it would be in late July, early August.

Hmmm....well the people on the Cape are friendly enough but the environment might not be. Keep in mind that the sand goes airborn on a windy day and you may end up with an exfoliating facial without a full helmet! Seriously. Now if you could trailer your bikes and use a car as back up I would have no hesitation to encourage you. Then again, if you want to live dangerously, throw caution to the wind and go for it! In any event, Congratulations on your 25th!

Can you give us a bit more information about what you like or what area of the Cape, upper, mid, lower or outer, that you think you might enjoy? How many days will you be staying? budget? Do you want to be in the more natural surroundings of the National Seashore or do you want to be in a place with more development and hence more activity? By the way, what kind of bikes do you ride? Provincetown is noted for the Harleys gliding down Commercial Street!

We stayed in Dennis Port on our honeymoon and thought we'd like to stay there again. Looking for places that are biker friendly that will not look down there noses at us. Not sure what our budget is yet...we love good riding roads w/beautiful scenery.

Just a suggestion... may want to consider Nova Soctia, in particular riding Cape Breton. The province publishes guides just for motorcycle touring - therefore one can assume they're biker-friendly up there. Check it out!
