Cape Cod - Best Guidebook?
Hi.
We will be visiting Cape Cod for 4 days in early July and are looking for a good travel book. I know there are quite a few (Fodors, Frommers, Lonely Planet). I am planning to go to a local B&N and see which one I like better but still wanted to get a taste of fodorites' preferences... Thanks in advance.

Go to the library and take them all out. As much as I love Fodors, their information is very generic and never changes year to year, I could faint when I read their recommendations for the town I live in, the restaurants have been closed for years, aren't nearly the best around and it's hopelessly outdated.

Eugene, I took out "The Explorers Guide" to Maine along with about 5 other guidebooks. The Explorers Guide was the best, it has far more detail than Frommers or Fodors, gives nice drives, walks, sites.
If they have an Explorers Guide to Cape Cod, get it!

Hands down Kim Grant's Explorer's Guide to Cape Cod and the Islands is the best most complete guide book you could ask for if you are coming to Cape Cod. The 6th Edition is her latest and at this point is one year old. She visits each and every B+B, lisits them with her favorite first on the list, and gives you honest first hand recomendations. Sad to say, Fodor's goes for the "tried and true" and rarely ventures off the beaten path. Explorer's guide is comprehensive, with complete listingsfor restaurants, things to do and prices.
