Canton Texas Trade Days
Planning on going to Trade Day's next month and a bit overwhelmed at the options. We are interested in junky antiques as opposed to fine antiques and crafts. Advice on where we should start? We are staying at the Millcreek Campground if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Someone else will have to help you with particulars but I want to be sure you know that even though it is called First Monday, the biggest days are Friday and Saturday. They start packing up and leaving Sunday and are mostly gone by Monday. It's just evolved that way over the years.

Overwhelming would be the exact description of the whole Canton experience-- haha. If you like the more "junky" antiques, they seem to generally be in open, uncovered areas. Just take your time, keep an open mind and have fun!

We have the best luck at the outdoor vendor section and the unreserved section. Cantontradedays.com has a map if you haven't seen it already.
Things I learned the hard way: comfy shoes and sunscreen are not optional. If you want it, buy it right then, do not count on ever finding it again! Stay hydrated. A kid's wagon or wheeled shopping cart is worth it's weight in gold if you plan on doing some serious shopping. And if you find the guy selling these: www.bbqhooks.com/ezhook - buy one - they rock!!
