Canon Beach area, Oregon

My friend and I are planning a camping trip for early June and would like to stay near the beach in the area around Canon Beach or Seaside. We are looking for a clean and safe tenting area. Thanks !

Scarlett gave excellent suggestions; but note that if a campground says reservations recommended, take that advice VERY seriously and reserve ASAP. Camping spots near CB are highly coveted and fill up quickly.

If Cannon Beach is full, check out the campgrounds in Fort Stevens State Park in Warrenton, just a few minutes away from Seaside. It's a gorgeous area with a nice beach, miles of walking/riding trails, and there is Coffenbury Lake there.
Right across the street is another very pretty lake area, Cullaby Lake and you will be just minutes away from the beautiful, historical town of Astoria on the Columbia River. Have fun! ***kim***

Oswald West State Park has a campground and is near Cannon Beach. Be sure to check out the website for Oregon State Parks.

There is a camp ground called Short Sands just south of Cannon Beach. It was very "primative" last time I was there...oh gosh around 8 years ago. I think it's in Oswald Park. There is also quite a hike down to the camping spaces...worth checking out.

Short Sand Beach is in Oswald West State Park. It is where my family learned to surf last summer. Beautiful cove to block the wind and very pretty beach here. ***kim***
