Canal St

Is there a problem going to Canal St and Little Italy since the WTC disaster? Thanks

No, although driving may be a problem in the Downtown area. Chinatown/Little Italy is at least 10 blocks from the WTC on the "other" side of Canal Street from Tribeca.

Chinatown and the like were packed this past weekend. Must be the glorious weather. If you're looking to Canal street to shop for souvenirs and knockoffs, I noticed that the streets slightly south (into the Chinatown streets) tend to be a little cheaper e.g. 6 NYC t-shirts for $10 vs. 4 or 5 a couple of blocks north)

No problem at all and the best way to get there is to take the subway if staying in midtown.
