Canadian Licence Plate Prone too break ins??

I hate to admit it but in my neck of the woods if you are from a different province or from the States, you are a good target for thieves. Is this also a problem in the States. We will be travelling in a van where suitcases etc will be visible.
ANy input is appreciated
Thx

Visible luggage is a ripe target regardless of what license plate is on the car!

I think that is definitely a problem in NYC.Even if the plate is from NJ or Conn, and they ticket and tow them more often too

We're pretty much a crime-free nation down here in the US, so it would be very unusual for a larceny to occur.

Ok Pete don't you have anything better to do. I know it is kind of a silly question but was hoping perhaps it was better in the States.
Thanks for the honest input from the others.

And if you were asking about Europe, the answer I gave earlier would still apply!
