Can you visit the coast from Eugene?

I will be visiting Eugene for work in mid-October and may be able to spend an extra day or two. I have not been to the northwest before and would like to get to the coast. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could get to the coast from Eugene without a car and where it would be good to visit?

Eugene Oregon is about 60 miles from coast-actually Florence is the coastal city. Highway 126==however, you would need a car. Last time I checked the only bus going to the coast left out of Portland and traveled up and down the coast

I suggest you rent a car for a day or 2 in Eugene as the coast is not that far away and WELL worth seeing! It's beautiful and unforgetable.

I met with the team I will be with in Eugene while we were in greenville last week and we figured we would have to rent a car to get to the coast and back. Any one have any suggestions as to where to spend saturday and Sunday nights along the coast there? I haven't had much luck finding info about the best places to stay and see along the coast.
