Can someone help with our family trip

Our family is heading out to Oregon for some special ocassions along with sightseeing. I have been chosen as the event planner and need help. First, we are flying into Portland on June 22nd and heading to SunRiver for a marathon on June 24th. After that we would like to go to Crater Lake and spend a night at the Lodge--from there we need to be in Waldport for a wedding on July 1st and flying out of Portland on July 3rd. I would love to go to Cannon Beach before we start home.
Thanks for any help planning this trip. If there are some other places to see on this trip, please advise.

If you like short hikes, Highway 138 between Crater Lake and Roseburg is a beautiful drive with waterfalls along the way. Most are less than a mile walk off the highway. The trails are well maintained and the scenery is gorgeous. We saw them all in one day driving through. http://www.newsreview.info/article/2005105130061

Try the Rogue River valley to the south of Crater Lake: if you enjoy outdoor activities, the valley offers fishing, hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, etc. Ashland is the home of the excellent Oregon Shakespeare Festival (which offers plays by Shakespeare and many others).

Here's the deal with Crater Lake: Rim Road-Around the lake and an all day affair, should be open by that time of year, but you can also drive from the North entrance to the Rim Village and make that your trip. I believe for this season the Lodge might be open, but they are remaking everything else: eats, gift shop etc. If you drive south, you hit some nice rock formations + There are several places outside the Park in Sky Lakes Country where you would find restuarants & lodging:

After spending a night, you can come down either Hwy Or.66 or Dead Indian Road right into Ashland, which will be going full tilt in Late June.

Things you can do in the Rogue Valley:
Watch Theatre
hike
Eat big town food in small town digs
Shop unique shops.
River raft: 1 to 4 diffficulty

Drink Wine.

How many in your touring party, and ages?
From 2 days in the Rogue Valley, I would head US199 to the coast, where you clip the top of the Redwoods at Jedidiah Smith State Park.

But first, at Cave Junction, you have to make a stop at Taylor's Saugage. Wonderful. Plus Wines at Bridgeview,

and the Oregon Caves National Monument.

Stop at the Tree Houses in Takilma

Then hit 101, and do the trip from Brookings to Waldport. Most of the coast has public access.
Cool places include Bandon, Charleston, The Sandunes.
I would try to stay at
Yachats, 10 miles south of Walport and our favorite place on the coast. A magical little burg of 600 souls where you can walk and not drive.

Here is a place we have always stayed. I don't know whether the A frame might be available or not.

South of town is the Ziggurat:

Enjoy yourselves.

Whoops, forgot to add, spend a day doing the coast after the wedding, up to Astoria, then last day into Portland.
