Camping within 2-3 hours of Atlanta
Hi,
I'm interested in taking a trip within 2-3 hours from Atlanta to the mountains/woods. It doesn't need to be in Georgia, but I'm not sure of many places to go and was hoping for some advice. Has anyone been up to into NC or west to Alabama? From looking at google maps, the Chattahoochee Forest looks pretty big.
Any ideas would be great.

http://gastateparks.org/ - this should get you started, also - http://www.ncparks.gov/Visit/main.php. I can't speak to Ga. but we camp & hike all over the NC Mts.
