If you want a historic spa, take a look at Indian Springs
http://www.indianspringscalistoga.com
If price is not a consideration consider Solage
http://www.solagecalistoga.com/
or Calistoga Ranch

What time of year will you be here ?

Thanks for your response, we will be there Nov. 19th and 201t. Thought of stayng at Dr. Wilkenson place? any suggestions about that place, or would you stay at St. Helena.
We are going to a wedding at the Calistoga Ranch.
Calistoga Ranch and Solacecalistoga was a bit above my budget, would love to stay there. Also thought about the Wine Country Inn in St. Helena.

Friends have stayed at Wine Country Inn and loved it. Don't know of anyone who has stayed at Dr. Wilkensen's in the last 10 years. A budget place some friends have liked in Calistoga is Washington Street Lodging. Rustic cottages within walking distance of the little downtown. Have also heard Eagle and Rose in St. Helena is a decent, not-too-expensive place. Wine Country Inn would be nicer than any of these.

By the way when I called Indian springs today, the girl told me they had no vacancies, I had mentioned that we would be going to a wedding at Calistoga Ranch, and she said that she was afraid that we would be some of the wedding party back to our room. I informed her that we would never do that, but she told me that there was no vacancies.
By the way would you stay in Calistoga or in St. Helena?? Sorry for so many questions. I have a feeling we should cancel Dr.W. I read the reviews on trip advisor, so thats kind of why I choice that place (i think I should cancel)

We really have not set a budget, but do not want to spend probably more than 250.00 per night. I think if we stayed at Calisoga we might try one of those mud baths that I read about. Would love to stay at Solace, but its expensive. Any B&B recommendations either town Calistoga or St. Helena. The wedding we are going to is at the Calistoga Ranch.
Thanks for all the help.

Per your other thread-
We've stayed at the Roman Spa -nice rooms and pools -
don't do your mud or spa there.
Do your mud bath at Golden Haven -
it's the only place you can a couples mud bath.
Do know that the majority of the spas in Calistoga
are not fancy, marble tiled resorts-they are
from the "taking the waters" old world retreats,
as elnap has stated,
AND they are fabulous !

I was just going to suggest you try one of the B&Bs. I'm not familiar with Chateau de Vie but it has good reviews on Tripadvisor. Checking the map I see it is out of town, not within walking distance of the little Calistoga downtown, but the location will probably be nice. It is the less traveled section of the highway.

I think it really sounds good. One of the rm. does not have a bathrm. so you have to walk to it, but its all yours, no one else on that floor it sounds like, I read all about it on tripadvisor. Its of course less $$. wil call in the morning.
thanks for your help.
