Calistoga Bound

Looking for a great but reasonable place to stay in the Calistoga area. Found Larkmead Country Inn. Price is right but has anyone stayed their...what did you think?

I've stayed at the Calistoga Inn. It's right in town, and you can pretend you are in 1849. There is a very pretty restaurant overlooking the creek.

The Larkmead Country Inn looks like it is out of town. The town is easy to stroll around, so it depends if you want peace & quiet or town life.

I think there are a lot of places in your price range. Maybe some are whackier than others, and I'm not sure which ones are the best currently. The area is charming.

As funky as the name--but rooms have been re-done: Doc Wilkinson's--it's also famous for mud baths and spa treatments. Agree that Calistoga is a great town to wander. Try Wapoo's for great dinner.

Washington Street Lodging is in a residential area one block from downtown - easy walking distance to Wappo's! We often recommend it to friends, and they've been pleased with it. Clean cottages, not upscale, but very pleasant. Outdoor courtyard with picnic tables and umbrellas. Check out their website.
