Ten days vs. 11 days is really not going to make a big difference to your trip. You might want to atleast factor in one day of doing nothing but resting up and just lying out by the pool all day. After several days of non-stop amusement parks and sightseeing, it's nice to allow everyone a day or rest and recooperation. Consider your extra day just that.

Took me a long time to give you a report on our trip...
We had a great time in California! Saw everything except for the big trees
We arrived in San Diego and left right away for Los Angeles where we stayed for 3 nights - went to a few beaches there, toured Beverley Hills and Hollywood (walk of Fame & Chinese Theater).
Then we left early and drove the fast way to Big Sur. Spent one night there (Monterey) and drove along the coast (amazing views) down to almost Los Angeles. Spent one night there and then drove to Las Vegas. We spent 2 nights there and had a great time! The kids enjoyed the 5 star hotel's pool and immense whirlpool. Then we drove back to San Diego and spent the rest of our vacation there. Enjoying the beaches and touring the city.
Thanks to all

First nights were in Manhattan Beach (Comfort Inn $85.50) is was very nice, we loved the beach (about 2 miles from the hotel)The breakfast (included) was really good. The only negative point is that the room was very dark since the windows were facing the corridor.
Second hotel was in Monterey (Fairgrounds Travelodge $89.00). Hotel was really great! Large rooms nicely decorated, very clean. The pool area was beautiful. Only negative point were the planes (felt like they were landing right on top of our heads)
3rd hotel was in Ventura (Country Inn & Suites $93.60). This hotel had the best breakfast buffet (included). Rooms were extra large! Whirlpool (by the pool) was a bit too hot. Only negative point was that it was literally feets from the highway and our room was facing it. Felt like the cars would drive right into our room. If we would have knowned, we would have specify that we wanted a room facing the front of the hotel.
4th hotel was in Las Vegas (Hilton Las Vegas $55). This was absolutely the very best of them all! Extra large room, impeccable and the pool area located on the roof of the 3rd floor was amazing!
5th hotel was in San Diego (Vagabond Inn 2 nights @ $77.40 + 2 nights @ $81.90). This was one the worst hotel I have ever been to in my life. Room had a bad smell, furniture was damaged and was about 30 year old. The pool was nice and the location was very convenient (Hotel Circle) though
