California/20th Anniversary
We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in April and will be in SFO area due to business. We would like to spend two special mid week nights somewhere. We are "foodies" and since it is such a special occasion there is no budget. Thinking of Ventana Inn? Would Napa be better? Suggestions please.

Hmmmm....well, there are a number of storied resturaunts in the Napa Valley. But.....the Ventana's dining room is pretty gol-darn good.
And for sheer scenic splendor appropriate for an anniversary like a 20th....? With cost as no object? In my mind, the Ventana wins hands down.

I haven't stayed at the Ventana as we usually stay in the Carmel Highlands area, but have had lunch there a few times. The property is gorgeous, I would go for the Ventana.
Since you're not on a budget, go across the street to Sierra Mar @ the Post Ranch Inn. We had an amazing meal there to celebrate a birthday in September. Dinner for two was just a bit over $200 but so wonderful. Happy Anniversary! ***kim***

I'd highly recommend the Post Ranch Inn. It's a magical place.... great spa.... the best restaurant... and the nicest most relaxing atmosphere. The rates are steep... but it is worth every penny. I'm heading back for my 3rd visit in March for my wedding anniversary... and am staying in a "butterfly room"... which is the least expensive. Check out the website: www.postranchinn.com
