First time I ever saw Clonakilty here on Fodors, I thought it said ClonaKITTY!! Who is cloning cats? !
We go to SLO quite often and stay in town at La Cuesta Inn or Sands Inn. But there lots of choices. We also stay in Pismo which we love. Try the Pacifica group. We stay at Cottage by the Sea, but The Sandcastle has suites:

Avila Beach is also nice.
