What's your main goal for the getaway? Do you plan to leave the cabin for other activities? Do you want to be near the bustle of a town like Gatlinburg, or would you rather be isolated in the mountains?
If you're looking for something inbetween, try Maggie Valley, N.C. I can't recommend anything specific, but the area is really nice and the traffic shouldn't be awful in April. Here's a website with a lot of options listed:

if you want to be out in the country near streams, waterfalls, hiking, fishing try www.sugarhollowretreat.com and stay at the lodge or one of the cottages.
