cabin and boat rentals near San Francisco - North or East

I would like to find a nice lake with fishing near San Francisco. North or East say around an hour or a little more from the City. It will be for mid-Sept. Would love a little cabin and a boat if possible. Is there such a place?
TIA
Jan

w/i an hour of SF puts you basically in the bay area suburbs. Not a lot of camping/cabins/lakeside/fishing resorts in Contra Costa/Alameda/Snata Clara counties etc.

I believe there are a few fishing lakes in Marin County. There are nice woodsy areas and you could probably find a cabin/house rental through an agency.

I think Marin and Sonoma counties are probably your best bet. I don't have any specific recommendations, but there are lots of woodsy areas up there.

If you go east, you will need to travel probably 3 hours or more to find what you are looking for - you've got to get out of the bay area and then across the central valley before you hit mountains again.

South of SF you've got the mountains along the peninsula and then the Santa Cruz mountains, but other than Loch Lomond, I don't know of any good fishing lakes down that way.

There are lots of fishing lakes around the Bay Area: San Pablo, Lafayette, Del Valle, Lake Sonoma, Lake Berryessa--but most of these don't have cabins for rent. You might try Clear Lake--Konocti specifically. VRBO may have some listings.

Of course there are lakes in northern CA - MANY. However the OP wants to be w/i an hour of SF.
Clear Lake, Lake Berryessa, etc. are longer drives . . . .

It sounds like they want some sort of mountain/fishing experience.
