What a wonderful detailed report! Thanks so much for sharing all the details, and it sounds truly superb.
Talk about getting your fodors fix - i got my fodors fix from your report and now i'm even more determined to get back to cal again next summer! Can't wait to explore pt. lobos state preserve, one of the few places we've missed in cal on our travels.
I bet you're going thru withdrawal now, just aching to go back?! Anyway, thanks again for an amazing report!

Wow! It was like reliving your trip -- what a terrific trip report; thank you thank you thank you.
We'll be going to Monterey this October (and San Francisco, Sacramento, Tahoe, Reno).
We try to go on 2 nice trips per year, but I have not put in the effort to diary our trips like this. I'm sure you find this a wonderful way to create lasting memories (especially to remember what those pictures were all about..). I am inspired; Good job!

Thanks for this great report. WE go to Vegas once or twice a year but I am ready to go now after reading your report! We have been staying at the Bellagio since it opened - have stayed at most of the other strip hotels before Bellagio opened. Like you, I love the fountains. We walk across to Paris and people watch at Bon Ami.
We're debating Monterey or Vegas for our next trip. Maybe we'll do both!

This is a great site. We just returned from a Mediterrnaean cruise and I got so much info from Fodorites. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Omigod, this was like going back in time!
I used to live in Hollywood and we used to go to the Magic Castle all the time
I used to drive up to SF and visit friends and you brought back so many great memories for me !
What a great trip you took!!

Thanks for a great report. We leave next Tuesday and I am really psyched. Loved your comment about your "cheap genes". I understand completely. Sometimes you spend and spend and then all of a sudden you decide enough is enough. Sometimes, however, once I get home, I think what would another few bucks have hurt in the scheme of things.
