Thank you both AAFF and Marilyn.These days e tickets are soooo convenient.I have a hard time just packing gear for my trips so not having to keep up with a ticket is a real plus.

We do this frequently while buying tickets for family in other states and we have had no problem with Northwest, American, United or Delta so am surprised that United said you can't. We never have the paper tickets - just the e-ticket info from the internet.
