If you are going to give online shopping a try, go to www.landsend.com. Browse the swimsuit options - and then enter "faille" as a key word.

I love this line of suits. I had four. I wore one faille purple tank out and ordered another a few years later - in a slightly different color purple. Then, I ordered the faille tank in brown (love it!) and the tankini in brown too. Yep, four suits in basically the same style. Can you tell I love it? I just gave away the tankini to my cousin, who came up without a suit.

I think the weight of the suit - the ribbing makes it just right - not too thin. It's very comfortable. I'd buy the halter cut top again and then the bottom - and they just went on sale. The faille tank isn't available right now.

Or, any of their tanks would work. I have them in almost every cut and style. I'm not wild about my figure - but feel extremely comfortable in my swimsuits from the two L's.

I have had good luck at the Macy's store at the Hyatt in Kanapauli, the shop in the Westin and Tommy Bahamas at Whaler's Village. Enjoy your trip!

I totally agree with Diana. I went to "Everything But Water" and had to decide between 3 different suits....and I only tried on about 6. Excellent selection excellent sales gal.

I've always enjoyed shopping Lands End. Although I haven't ordered anything from them since Sears bought them. They always had great customer service and very good quality. For swimsuits, their styles are a little more "tame", not that there's anything wrong with that! I'm just saying if it's a hot sexy bikini you're after, try Everything But Water because you won't find it at Lands End. But if you want a basic swimsuit that is made well at a fair price, Lands End is a good choice.

Good info, I never knew that one could return Land Ends merchandise to their local Sears store.

We are all so different. My DH and I enjoyed shopping sometimes when on trips. And I still do. More so than at home (probably because I can never find anything in the stores in my area).

I remember my most favorite bathing suit. I purchased it in Miami. It was a black and white sort of swirly design. Made in Isreal. I wanted to cry when that bathing suit wore out. It brought back beautiful memories every time I wore it.

Let me first answer a few questions that have been asked. We will be staying near Kamaole Beach while in Maui. The reason I had not bought a swimming suit before now is because I am pregnant, but wasn't sure if I would be showing enough to need a maternity suit. I'm tall and slender and I really don't have much of a belly yet, so I don't anticipate finding a suit that will fit me to be difficult. There is one swim shop where I live, but they did not have many suits in my size and I thought I might find more of a selection in Maui. I'm not picky about what I get, I just want to know some good stores to try out so I don't have to waste a lot of my vacation time finding a suit. We planned to do some clothes shopping and I appreciate all the store ideas you have given!

sbennett, congratulations! It is nice that you can go to Hawaii before your little one arrives. Have a wonderful time and let us know when your baby joins your family.

There is a poster on the Europe Board, mebe, who went to Italy. She just had twin baby boys and posted back about their birth. Very special.

LoveItaly: Your suit was probably a Gotex. For fit, design, and durability they are the best consistantly. $$$

Hi SB: Congratulations!

You won't have any trouble finding a suit. All of the little shopping centers seem to have at least one store selling suits. Unfortunately, I can't recommend one to you, but I can tell you that suits and cover-ups are EVEYWHERE-in Kihei, anyways. You'll have so much fun. I thought everyone in Maui was SO friendly too.

Every Wal-Mart here in the islands stocks _loads_ of bathing suits for the entire family, year 'round. They're very inexpensive, which will allow you to purchase more than one suit.
