We've stayed in Butte twice and were not pleased with our lodging on either visit. I found on the web that the Hampton Inn is the newest motel in Butte, and that is where I would stay. They serve a good breakfast. Ask family members who live in Butte, if this sounds like a good idea.

No, I haven't stayed at the Ramada. I had such a bad experience at a Ramada in Williamsburg, VA a few years ago that I've never stayed at one since. The Ramada in Seattle (where I live) is a BIG disappointment.
I recall now that on one visit to Butte we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. Most of the motels in this chain are new, but a few are old, failed motels that have been converted to Holiday Inns. That is the case in Butte, and we really hated the place. It's right on the highway, you can't miss it.

I see now that the Ramada is now owned by a company called Unirez. It was renovated a couple of years ago and the price is right, so we may try it out. Holiday Inn was one of the places I called. I will check with our relatives to see if they know anything, but I don't think they've had occasion to check out hotels. Thanks a lot for your comments; they've been helpful!

I found a Ramada motel in Butte on the internet, but it is not listed on the official www.ramada.com web site or in my AAA Guidebook.
However, it may be a good place nonetheless; the Holiday Inn Express is in the AAA and it is a stinker.
Hampton Inn has nice rooms, a good breakfast and they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee which they honor.
I hope you have a good time with your familly.

I wouldn't touch Ramada with a ten-foot pole. I've stayed at the Hampton Inn in Butte and not only would I say it is the best hotel in the area, but also one of the better Hampton Inn properties in the Hampton chain (and I've stayed at many).

I watch my dollars closely, but in traveling a great deal I have learned not to be attracted to the lowest room rate because very often for a few dollars more I can get a room that is not twice as nice but often three, four, or five times nicer.
You are only staying two nights. Why not splurge and treat yourselves. You deserve it.
