Butler visit/where to eat in INdianapolis!

My daughter and I are visiting Butler U for a college tour. We have reservations at the Westin. Anyone able to recommend a good restaurant near the Westin? THanks

Try Malibu on Maryland. It's my favorite. Palamino is also a good one.

I agree with angelag. Those are two of the best places.

I don't know your daughter but they might be a little eclectic for an 18 year old. My 17 year niece likes Palomino, my 16 year old nephew doesn't. Go figure.

Other places that might do well are:

PF Changs, Alcatraz Brewing, Ram Brewery and Rock Bottom Brewery. There's a Hard Rock Cafe too for the requisite t-shirt, hat or pin. All of these are chains. Sadly Indianapolis doesn't have many independent restaurants. Even Palomino is a chain.

I don't like the Westin restaurant. It's a Shula's steakhouse. Big hunks of beef don't excite me. I do like the Westin's bar. You and your underage daughter can sit in the comfy leather couches and look out the windows.

Eat at St. Elmo's Steak House. Out of this world shrimp cocktail, and excellent food. It's on Illinois Street on the eastside across from the Circle City Mall parking garage.

Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants to eat at in Indy is called "Mama Carolla's". It located not far from Butler Univ on 54th Street just past Collage Ave near the Monon Trail (this is a hiking path through the city. Anyone in the city would be able to give you directions to where this is) It is a wonderful restaurant! Enjoy!
