I know what you mean, missypie. I hope I am not forced to choose a ridiculous color for my home facade's.
On the other hand, I think these rules also have positive effects. Like you said, it is because of them that those areas look so nice. I would rather have them enforced some rules than having a muffler shop or strip club behind my backyard.
