Business trip to Fall River and Cape Cod

I have a business trip at Fall River and Buzzards Bay the end of June. I'll looking for something different than my normal Hampton Inn under $200. I don't mind B&B, but need wireless. Clean, comfortable and if near water, that's great! I don't want to be much more than 40 minutes from Buzzards Bay. Thanks!!

Sorry you haven't received any responses, PAMom1. It's probably because there are "slim pickin's" along that particular stretch of 195.

I'm not sure how long you are spending in each place, but I would rather stay closer to the Cape and commute to Fall River, than vice versa.

There is a Residence Inn in North Dartmouth which, though not midway, is a good in-between compromise. The area is okay, a mix of office & warehouse buildings as well as retail & restaurants. There is also a VF factory outlet nearby.

Other than that, there is a Hampton Inn in Fairhaven that might work for you. I would stay away from New Bedford.

Hopefully, some of our Cape experts will be along with some suggestions for lodging in the Buzzards Bay area.

Onset is a picturesque village on the water with several quaint inns overlooking the Harbor and it is right next to Buzzards Bay.

Staying here Fall River would be about a 40 minute trip and Buzzards Bay no more than 5 minutes.

To look at these inns do an internet search on "Onset accomodations".

Mattapoisett and Marion are tow charming villages with easy access to Rt.195 and location convenient to both Buzzards Bay and Fall River. The Mattapoisett Inn is on the harbor and also has a restaurant with popular bar for locals. It is very quant and has different owners than when we stayed there so I'm not sure how the accommodations are now. You can probably find out a bit more by contacting the local Chamber of Commerce. The new owners may have changed the name as well so ask about the "old Mattapoisett Inn"

Marion is a town with lovely water front homes and a world-class deep harbor prized by sailing vessels. You will have to google to find a charming B+B as nothing comes to mind immediately.

OK, I did a bit of snooping and found that the name of the Mattoapoisett Inn has been changed to the Kinsdale Inn but there are two web pages:
http://www.kinsaleinn.com and www.themattapoisettinn.com

I think it would be just what you are looking for!

For a nice location, walk to town and harbor, you might consider this small B+B called Pineywood Farm, in Marion http://www.virtualcities.com/ons/ma/z/maza601.htm

We stayed in West Harwich at the Commadore Inn. I'm not sure how far it is from Buzzards Bay. It was very clean, quaint, the owners were extremely hospitable. There was a pool and we could walk to the beach. I believe breakfast was included.

I know you said you're looking for something *other* than Hampton Inn - but FYI in case you want to fall back on it, there is one right off I-195 in Westport. That part of Westport is about 5 minutes from Fall River, and much handier than going all the way down to Fairhaven if you need/want to be close FR... (There are also a couple of other generic hotels in North Dartmouth on Faunce Corner, which as lvk said is a good midway point.)

Other than that, I think the suggestions for Onset, Mattapoisett and Marion are the way to go!

...If you do end up at the Westport Hampton Inn, there is a great donut shop nearby: Butler's Colonial House, 461 Sanford Road. Just got written up in "America's Best Donuts" on food.yahoo.com.
