Bush Airport Houston traffic
South Florida is always under construction and whenever I'm in a hurry there are road delays....I'll be rushing from Bush Airport at 11 to get to the Galleria area by 12:30 for lunch.
Any road construction problems I should know about?

I have to clear this up and then get some sleep.
I'm going to Houston later this week and will be driving from Bush Airport in Houston to the Galleria area around lunch time.
Is there any construction tie up that I should be aware of? That the rental agency may not warn me about.
I was just comparing that in South Florida, where I'm from, our roads are frequently under construction.
HOpe this is clearer so I can get some responses. It's 2 a.m. here and I'm more tired than I realize. Thanks for being polite!!

You will have plenty of time. Slow down. Should take about 30 minutes to pick up baggage and get a car, and drive from airport to Galleria area is usually 45 minutes. During the day on weekdays, there is very little construction. There will be some traffic. The car rental service can give you very good directions on how to get there. I work in the Galleria area. You can call me if you need help after you land.

I'm ususally pretty self-sufficient when getting around in other cities but I had a dreadful experience in Dallas last year and it took me a while to figure out what the problem was. Apparently in Dallas most roads have two names to them. All directions I was given were for the "other name" What the locals know the roads as, so nothing matched up with the highway exits or the maps. I also had several people advise me to go north or south when I only saw east/west options...I tried to just us a map but everyone would give me a suggestion that totally messed me up. I was with other people to vouch for me that I had consistent wrong directions.
It can't happen like this anywhere else...
