OK, that's way too complicated. You are going from Capitol Hill to the Kennedy Center?

Walk to the Eastern market metro, get on either the orange (to Vienna) or blue (Franconia-Springfield) lines to Foggy Bottom. There is a Kennedy Center shuttle (red shuttle, right at the entrance to the Metro) that will take you to the Kennedy Center. Or you can walk, which is about 10 minuts.

And you shouldn't be using MTA's website for trips in DC. You should be using

www.wmata.com

Isn't the 929 a commuter bus from somewhere pretty far outside of DC? I think it passes me (or I pass it) on Rt. 29.

The word Maryland should have been a dead giveaway. You won't be in Maryland
