Burlington Vt - days needed

So how many days would you need to spend in burlington Vt to take in all the sights and museums and factory tours?

Is the aquarium a worthwhile stop (no kids).

thanks.

I need 2 days for the Shelburne Museum. Lake Champlain Chocolate tour was less than an hour. An hour or so at the Magic Hat brewery. I walked into the ECHO center but decided that for me it wasn't worth the time and money.
When are you going? Are you allowing time to drive around other areas outside Burlington?

The Shelburne Museum is pretty much an all-day outing. You could easily fill up several more days. I like the aquarium and science center even w/o kids. The Lake Champlain Maritime museum, Ethan Allen Homestead and Rokeby museum are all easy trips and are also interesting. Ben & Jerry's factory tour in Waterbury is popular. It is fun to take a ferry across the lake so you get the great views of the Adirondacks and the Green Mts.

There are lots of musical festivals and events in the summer

What time of the year are you going? That makes a big difference in planning things. I have two kids, so we love the ECHO Center, but I'm not sure I'd love it so much without kids. Worth a stop, yes? But it will only take you about 2 hours to see everything. But you can access the bike path from there, or walk back up to Church Street and have a fabulous lunch and spend the afternoon.

What sort of things do you like to do? That would help to know to help you plan.

We took the ferry across the lake and visited Ausable Chasm. If you're a gardener, Gardener's Supply has demo gardens and is located in an interesting area popular for biking, etc. Also, we spent half a day driving thru the Champlain islands. We started north, ending up in Burlington for lunch.
