Burger Heaven- New York

Has anyone ever eaten at Burger Heaven in NYC? I'm looking for a casual place for lunch/dinner and have walked by there before but have not eaten there. Are the burgers decent? I realize food is a subjective opinion but what sytle of burger are they? Thin patty, thick etc? Just curious as to what other's experiences have been . . .Thanks.

Hi Miramar, Burger Heaven is a place where my coworkers and I go when we want something a little nice at lunch but still within our timeframe and budget.

Burger Heaven makes a tasty burger. Thick, juicy, to your requested done-ness, and they turn them out *fast*. Classic toppings, sour pickles on the table. Salads and stuff are also decent there (large portions!). French fries are pretty ordinary. Ambiance... well, there's not much ambiance!

If you work/live in the area - go for it. But if you're thinking of travelling to midtown to taste BH, there's sure to be a good place in closer proximity.

There are so many really good burger joints in NYC (Shake Shack as Ike mentioned, for one)! It means that a lot of fine burger places never make it onto any "best of" list - but it also means that there's probably a really tasty burger right around the corner!

So by all means try them - then try all the rest!

Ask different people in our family and you get different answers. One claims Shake Shack is the best, the other loves Corner Bistro in the West Village, and another Burger Heaven.....try them all!

I like Burger Heaven. Like Ike said, I used to work nearby and it was an easy place for a sit-down lunch (with waitress service). They have good burgers, sandwiches and salads. They also have a good breakfast. It isn't fancy, but clean, good food and reasonable.

I think the White Horse on Hudson St in the West Village has the BEST burgers. I was there last week, sat outside, and watched the city go by and had a great burger.

Burger Haven is ok on Madison Ave, good shopping in the area.

Shake Shack burgers are made from brisket and top sirloin. Fantastic. They get my vote.

in the meridien hotel on 56th btwn 6th and 7th.

2. corner bistro
has the greatest jukebox and great burgers. i think somewhere on bleeker.

3. pauls
2nd ave and 4th street. my personal favorite for atmosphere and burgers.

I am also nominating Chumley's and Broome St. Bar for great burgers. Chumley's serves their burger on an english muffin, and Broome St.'s is on a pita.

I've heard good things about Rare in the Shelburne hotel, but haven't had the chance to try it.

1. Shake Shack - if you can endure the loooooooong lines during meal hours. The frozen custards are loaded with calories, but are great!

2. Burger Joint - Le Parker Meridian

3. Smith & Wollensky - The burgers with top notch meat are, I think, very good value in spite of their $14 price tag.

As far as Burger Heaven is concerned, sorry, not impressed at all.

Back Stage Deli, a little hole in the wall on Lex between 62nd and 63rd, has the best burgers ever.

I should clarify that Burger Heaven is fine for what it is, if you're in the neighborhood. I wouldn't necessarily travel for it.
