Buffalo / W. NY dog kennels

Hi,
Can anyone suggest a kennel near Niagara Falls? We're looking for someplace on the American side, maybe Buffalo or the countryside.

We have a larger lab -- very sweet.

Thanks!

I have used Amherst Boarding Kennel which is about 25 minutes from Niagara Falls. 4650 Millersport Hwy, E. Amherst, NY 14051; 716-636-6172. large kennel-all of the US border agents kennel their dogs there. Closer to Niagara FAlls,. but I havent used them are Debbies Doghouse (6677 Walmore Rd, NF, NY 716-4168. They show a website in the phone book-www.debbiesdoghouse.com; Schaffer kennels, 3376 Niagara Falls Blvd, N. Tonawanda NY 716-694-6070 (I have a friend who has boarded her dog there and was satified); Fort Hyde Kennels 8513 Ridge Road, Gasport NY 716-772-2356-probably a good 30 minute drive from the falls, in a rural area of Niagara County.; Boulevard Training Kennels, 3349 Niagara Falls Blvd, N. Tonawanda NY 716-693-4695. The two kennels located on Niagara Falls Boulevard are probably 10-15 minutes away from the touristy area of Niagara Falls. The kennel located in Niagara Falls is probably the closest but I have no knowledge of it. Good luck

I have three wonderful dogs so I know how important it is to find a good kennel. You can take your dogs into canada. You just need their license and proof of proper immunizations, including rabies. but I dont know of kennels in canada

There are pet friendly cottages.. I saw a nice one in Niagara on the Lake, Canada. Also, there is a pet friendly bed & breakfast in New York in West Falls, NY. ( 42 miles from Niagara, NY). Do you want info for either of these?

laplaya, Thanks for the offer, but for this trip we are going to "splurge" for a room with a view for a couple of nights. Unfortunately, pup is too large for the pet-friendly Sheraton. Having her along for the rest of the vacation week won't be a problem but I think we're going to board her while we're in Niagara proper.

OK. If you ever want to stay in Niagara on the Lake, Canada (known as very pretty city in Canada), then the cottage is very pet friendly, and you have a view of the lake in your backyard @ this property!

Check out reviews of hotels @ tripadvisor.com
(good way to find out which hotels charge extra for parking, which ones have construction, etc.)
