If you stay in Ellicottville per your other post... mapquest will guide the way...

Buffalo to Syracuse
81 south out of Syracuse to 80 West
Berwick is about 5 miles off of Interstate 80.

Really?? When i did the mapquest or google map they have us going south at Batavia, 390 ish, through Williamsport, etc. Is this all wrong?

I haven't been on 15 from Corning to Williamsport in years, but I don't think it is the greatest or fastest road. Maybe someone else with better knowledge could answer???

US15 is fine. I-81 is a LONG detour.

The only question is whether to take the Thruway to I-390 then south; or take NY400 to US20A to get to I-390.

rkhan...yes, google maps said the 400 one and mapquest said south at Batavia to 390..they are 30 minutes difference in time but I really don't know how the roads are...as well, my husband just bought a car with GPS..not specifically for this trip, ha,ha...but maybe that will help?

US15 is not an interstate, but it's still a good road. It's more winding than I-81, but I have driven a 18-wheeler over it with no issues that I can remember.

If it's snowing or whether is bad, then take the interstate. If you don't like roads with any curves - hey, I lived in Houston for a long time and many drivers don't know how to drive on curvy roads at all! - then take the interstate.
