Budget hotels in Denver?

Hello all! My husband and I are attending a wedding in Denver in two weeks, and need to find a budget hotel. We will be flying into DEN, and the wedding is in Lakewood. Either of those areas would be fine, or somewhere a reasonable drive away.

By "budget," I mean as inexpensive as possible. After paying for the flights and gift, Motel 6 is not out of the question! All that we ask is for it be clean and safe.

Thank you

Thank you!

Dates? I assume it is over a weekend?
Will you have a car?
There is a 3 Star "Best Value" in Golden for 39.00 on Hotwire.

Lakewood or Golden. Do the Hotwire thing or Priceline. There is a La Quinta on I25 near Coors Field.

Unless you want to be near downtown Denver, I'd avoid the La Quinta at 1-25. I drive by this everyday on the way home from work and it doesn't look appealing at all. It is very near where I-70 and I-25 intersect. I maybe way off since I've never been inside the hotel. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

I agree with trying for Golden or Lakewood on priceline or hotwire. Area around 6th and Simms in Lakewood has some decent lodging and a safe area. Golden would be ideal, but not sure about prices.

I agree with JD, I also don't get good vibes from the La Quinta near Coors Field. There is a Marriott in Lakewood near 6th & Simms that shows a $89 weekend rate. You might want to try to bid for a better rate.

Rent your car on Hotwire or Priceline and save a ton.

I really like LaQuintas and there are two pretty close to the wedding. There's one in Golden, but the hotel in Lakewood is a LaQuinta Inn and Suites. The "Suites" hotel are newer with a nicer room/lobby floor plan.

Check out lq.com.

The free continental breakfast is good, with cook-your-own waffles.

There is a Motel 6 in Lakewood at 480 Wadsworth blvd. When we tour the states we always try to stay at Motel6,its clean and you only stay in the room to sleep and take a shower. Paul

Suggest you consult www.biddingfortravel.com for info on recent priceline sales for Denver and for guidance. The Hyatt in the Tech Center North has sold in the low 30's but there is a bidding fee and some fancier hotels, such as the Hyatt, charge for parking. Good luck.

Tech Center is a long way from Golden. But that said, there are many good deals to be had there, especially for week-ends. And you might get an efficiency so save on breakfast. It's an easy drive from the airport also.

Thanks all!

Just booked a great rental care rate on Hotwire, so thank you for that suggestion, Gretchen.

Glad it worked for you. The last time I went to Denver the Hotwire rate I got was so good I didn't even try for PL. We be Tarheels too, right here.
