Budget hotels in Denver?
Hello all! My husband and I are attending a wedding in Denver in two weeks, and need to find a budget hotel. We will be flying into DEN, and the wedding is in Lakewood. Either of those areas would be fine, or somewhere a reasonable drive away.
By "budget," I mean as inexpensive as possible. After paying for the flights and gift, Motel 6 is not out of the question! All that we ask is for it be clean and safe.
Thank you

Unless you want to be near downtown Denver, I'd avoid the La Quinta at 1-25. I drive by this everyday on the way home from work and it doesn't look appealing at all. It is very near where I-70 and I-25 intersect. I maybe way off since I've never been inside the hotel. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
I agree with trying for Golden or Lakewood on priceline or hotwire. Area around 6th and Simms in Lakewood has some decent lodging and a safe area. Golden would be ideal, but not sure about prices.

I really like LaQuintas and there are two pretty close to the wedding. There's one in Golden, but the hotel in Lakewood is a LaQuinta Inn and Suites. The "Suites" hotel are newer with a nicer room/lobby floor plan.

Suggest you consult www.biddingfortravel.com for info on recent priceline sales for Denver and for guidance. The Hyatt in the Tech Center North has sold in the low 30's but there is a bidding fee and some fancier hotels, such as the Hyatt, charge for parking. Good luck.
