Bryce - Navajo Loop closed. Best alternative hike??
I am so excited about finally seeing Utah this summer! We'll be in Bryce in early July, but I just read that the NPS closed the Navajo trail and the "connector trail from Bryce Point to Peekaboo Loop" due to erosion.
We had planned to do the Queen's Garden/Navajo Loop combination hike. Could anyone suggest the next best hike for us to see this beautiful place? Thanks a million! - Jill

Hi - We were there in April and the Navaho Loop was closed then plus a lot of others because of the snow. We did Fairyland Loop and thought it was wonderful. It is a longer hike but really gives you a taste of Bryce below the rim. Just pace yourself. Have fun, sue

I was at Bryce at the end of May and you can do the Queen's Garden trail and part of the Navajo trail that connects to Queen's Garden. The section of trail nearest Bryce Point was washed out from melting snow, so I suppose it's possible it would be open by July. There was still some snow piles at the highest elevations when we were there. We also liked the Fairyland Loop.
