Broadway Play~Chicago~discounts?

Are discounted tickets for Chicago hard to come by? I have been watching the recommended sites for a while now...broadwaybox, theatermania, etc. and can't seem to find any discount codes for Chicago. I'm looking to get tickets for Dec. 22 or 23. Any suggestions?

I don't know what discounts have been available in the past, but doesn't it star both Rita Hayworth and Usher right now? That might make it more popular, and therefore mean fewer discounts.

In any event, I don't know that you'd find any discount codes for that time frame this early, on any shows.

Rita Hayworth??? Rita Wilson maybe?

Discounts for Dec. won't be listed until Oct/Nov. But many of the discounts are not good for Fri/Sat nights so I wouldn't count on it,especially so near the holiday.

I was wondering how they managed to get Rita Hayworth for Chicago -- yikes, that would make tickets expensive. I can't imagine what part she'd play, though.

As mclaurie said, it's too early to get discounts for December. And, it's questionable if there will even be any discount tickets for those days, as that's the beginning of the busiest time of the year for the Broadway theater.
I suggest you get the tickets now. Incidently, Huey Lewis will be starring in the show at that time.

Holy cow! I guess I was really in a hurry to be able to leave the office already on a Friday afternoon! Color my face red!

Here's one that shows plays but not discounts
http://www.broadwayworld.com/happening.cfm

I don't know how complete it is though, because both Avenue Q and
Chicago should have performances that night and they're not listed.

Altar Boyz (off Broadway) has become quite popular and there's a discount for that on broadwaybox.com ---tickets for $37.50

These are the shows that are scheduled to perform on Monday, October 16: A Chorus Line, Avenue Q, Chicago, Rent, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Phantom of the Opera, The Times They Are A-Changin'.
Armed with this information, check broadwaybox.com and playbill.com to see which, if any, shows have discount offers.

Discount tickets for the Friday or Saturday of Christmas weekend? Wow, that seems like it would be a major accomplishment.

jlm_mi, thanks for the greatest slip of the day. I'm still trying to picture old Rita Hayworth kicking up her heels.

Neopolitan: Yes, this may seem like a major accomplishment. However, I did score tickets to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on Dec. 20 at a discounted price. I suppose anything is possible if you look hard enough. Thanks everyone for your help!

Oh, that's no surprise at all! Those are pretty regularly available all through the holidays. But congratulations anyway -- you'll love it.
