Breakfast near Union Station

Hi folks. This is my first time here and my first post.

My wife and I are going to DC for a week in September. Amtrak just changed our times so that we'll be arriving in Union Station at 6am on a Saturday morning. Does anyone know of any breakfast places in or near Union Station that would be open this darn early? It's a stretch, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks.

Alonzo

The entire lower level of Union Station is a gigantic food court, including many places that serve breakfast foods (bakeries, fast food chains, fruit smoothies), with common seating areas so you can choose exacty what you want.

Here's a link to a partial list of the takeout places in the Union Station lower-level Food Court. Hours aren't given, but you might pick a couple to call and inquire.

I like a breakfast dish served at Johnny Rockets: home fries covered with chili, onions, peppers and cheese. A "coronary" and culinary delight.

Are you on train 67 (or 66?) that heads towards Newport News?

The perfect complement to Johnyy's chili fries is a nice big strawberry milkshake. Plus, it adds fruit to the meal so you have all your food groups covered.

If nothing else, I bet Starbucks will be open.

Thanks for all the recommendations, folks. I was actually looking for more of a sitdown restaurant with pancakes and such. Somebody just told me about www.mrbreakfast.com. Though I didn't find a place near Union Station, I did find one in Adams Morgan where our B&B is anyway, so it'll be perfect for us. Thanks again.
