Boston to Salem
Hi: Am debating between flying into Boston or driving from western NY. We will be staying in Salem. What is the best way to get from Logan to Salem without spending a fortune (but will have luggage with us)? If we drive, what route would we take from the I-90 to get to Salem? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Well i can't guarantee this will work for you, but this is what me and my hubby did on our honeymoon.
Arrive at Logan, CLUELESS. As a lady at an information desk. She suggests a taxi to the commuter rail line. We grab a taxi to the commuter rail line (it wasn't that expensive I don't remember how much 12 bucks?). We buy commuter rail ticket to Salem (yes, with luggage, we each had a pull along with wheels).
Arrive Salem, in the rain, at commuter rail line. Realize that I forgot to bring the map I had of Salem. Start walking. We guessed right, and hit the touristy part of salem and found a giant map. Find hotel on map.
Arrive at bed and breakfast soaking wet. Check into honeymoon suite and fill the jacuzzi
.
Like I said, can't promise this will work for you, but my hubby and I are still giggling at ourselves walking in Salem, in October, in the rain, with all our luggage, and no map. Great honeymoon memory

I agree that the taxi/commuter rail would be your best strategy. To get from the airport to the commuter rail (i.e., North Station) via public transport would cost just $1 each, but would involve a shuttle bus and two diffferent subway lines. Be sure you tell the cabbie North Station, since there are also commuter rail lines at South Station!! You can get the train schedule at www.mbta.com
By car from the Turnpike, you'd take I-95 north to Route 128 north, then exit 25 to route 114 east.
