Boston to Hawaii flight prices

What is the typical cost of a flight from Boston to Hawaii (Maui or Kauai)? Coach, booking well in advance of the flight.

Do you think that I could get a low price ticket using priceline.com for travel in September 2002? Current prices are around $1200 per ticket - this is way too expensive. I am hoping for between $600-700 per ticket. Thanks!

Tim,

I think you'll be able to book a regular ticket (without Priceline) for about 600-700 dollars. I have flown HNL -> Boston, and also to Detroit, Houston, Seattle, Portland, LA, San Francisco, etc. Anyhow - it is much too early to look for a good fare for September. I'd suggest planning to purchase your tickets no more than 3-4 months in advance.

Travelocity has a 'fare watcher' function. You can set up your account with travelocity to email you whenever a certain fare drops below the price you set.

Scigirl - thanks for the reply! I did not know that Travelocity had that feature. I'll be sure to give it a try, and I'll also be sure to wait a few months to buy my tickets.

We recently booked flight with American Airlines at their website for about 575. Seems booking direct online is as good as the big brokers. Just keep watching. Anything under 700 is a good value. You have plenty of time to find a deal. Goodluck.

Hi Tim
I booked a flight for $750 rt from Boston to Kauai for April 2002 via costco travel on continental airlines. I looked for months in advance and found the same thing about $1200 round trip. The trip is my honeymoon so I wanted to get it done as soon as possible. I booked it at the end of October. Now I kind of wish I hadn't. I've found more direct flights for less money. AA- $720 and United with 1 stop fro $691. My flight has 2 stops.

Thought this might help...Good Luck !!
